Following their appearance on the #disruptHR stage last year, Flapps will be joining us at the HR Tech World Startup Competition again in 2017. For those who don’t know, Flapps offers an enterprise time and attendance SaaS solution. Having found that traditional HR teams often work with archaic systems, Flapps made it their strategy to bring constant innovation to time and attendance monitoring. Taras Baca, Flapps’ CEO, tells me they haven’t finished developments yet with their SaaS solution; enhancements include tracking attendance with Android-NFC, a WiFi app and smartwatch. Plus, Flapps is currently building a Machine Learning team to introduce machine learning algorithms that use time and attendance data to identify fraud with employee attrition models.
The HR tech space is on a fast track of development, with new ideas sprouting up every day, and this is part of Flapps’ motivation for participating in the HR Tech World Startup Competition. As Taras says, if you have something good to share why not show it to a large crowd at HR Tech Amsterdam! They’re ready, and confident, for the ‘Ready, Steady, Present’ of the startup stage. Taras intends to use his time at HR Tech World to open up new dialogues with HR pioneers who are tired of outdated systems and processes, looking for the innovations and startups within which the real value lies.
A significant part of Flapps’ appeal is its simplicity. Taras explains that as business life has become very complex, it was their major goal to create a solution that would be simple to use right from the start and actually help reduce an unnecessary headache for HR professionals. Flapps’ advantage is its ability to untangle complex processes through the relatively fast modification of its functions and modules, all while maintaining user-friendly setup.
Flapps’ ethos for simplicity starts with its name. Flapps stands for Flexible Applications and expresses the team’s core philosophy of creating complex yet flexible enterprise applications – all because that’s what Flapps’ clients need.
Since they last took to the HR Tech World startup stage Flapps has been very busy. In the last 12 months they’ve partnered up with Famoco, which provides the wall-mounted Android device with a front NFC antenna that communicates with the server via the internet. So Flapps now enables real-time attendance tracking and notifications, which is ideal for companies managing field workers, office employees and staffing companies. Flapps has also recently released a new mobile version of Flapps on both iOS and Android and they’re rolling out a clock-in and clock-out monitoring system based on employees’ phones connecting to Wi-Fi. Taras tells me the inspiration for Flapps’ development has been their clients, both current and potential, and their colleagues.
